Module 5
This modules opens up another way of communicating ideas with students.
I liked the idea of podcasting. I could use this to take photos of the student's art work and apply appropriate music to accompany the vision. Eg; environmental work of John Dahlsen. By adding a thong from each student one at a time the images will be gradually built up to form the whole video.
There is so much content in the Storynory. It just seemed to be endless. The more I searched into the site the more I found. I will definitely spend more time investigating this site. I was particularly interested in the Greek stories as I am teaching myths and legends at the moment so the students can go to Storynory and read the literature. Some students prefer this style of reading, it suits thier learning style so why not use it as well as books. Then they can blog their ideas so I can assess their comprehension of the story.
This module is a great teaching and learning tool for both teachers and students.

Module 4
Today was most valuable. The 'make stuff' section was terrfic with the search for photos.
Being able to post photos to people and they can in turn view them and make a comment is like a magic trick. It is so immediate and fulfillling to both parties. Catergorising them makes for easy access and retrieval. The 'guest pass' is also a great idea. It enables those who are not signed up.
The Flickr site has already been passed onto my students as I can see the many ways which they can enhance their learning, presentations, sharing ideas with the teacher and peers.
Now I need to practise and apply these new found skills of mine.
Each module certainly does build on the other. I look back now to Module 1 and I feel that I am more confident with this new tool of learning and I am keen to keep on going.
It has been a great idea to participate in this course with fellow staff members as we encourage each other and we also know that we can discuss the course at other times and share experiences. Bring on Module 5!
